The Amur Leopard adaptations
The Amur Leopard has many adaptations. These are some of them. #1 The Amur Leopard has a very unique fur coat. It is spotted and helps them blend in with the snow and trees. This also has hurt them throughout the years with poachers killing them just for their coat. #2 The Amur Leopard has very sharp canine teeth that help them sink their teeth into their prey and kill them. #3 The Amur leopard has pads on its feet that can retract it's claws or make them come out. The Leopard has very sharp claws good for climbing trees and getting traction. Those were 3 physical adaptations but along with that the Leopard has many behavioral. #1 (behavioral) the Amur Leopard is an apex predator but that doesn't protect it from scavengers, so the leopard drags its dead prey up into trees to hide the carcass and enjoy its meal in peace. #2 (behavioral) the Leopard is an ambush predator. The Amur Leopard waits for just the right moment to lunge at their prey and bite down on their neck to kill it fast. #3 (behavior) The Amur Leopard can run at speeds of up to 37 MPH this helps them catch their prey. The Amur Leopard has many more adaptations but these are their main ones that help them survive.

Natural Selection
The Amur Leopard is a very adapted predator, its coat helps camouflage it in the snow. Unfortunately poachers have started to over hunt them for their coats. The Amur leopards are down to less than 30 in the wild as of 2015. In the future I believe with all the protection the russian government is giving them, the amur Leopards will make a come back.
